Becaues IE 6/7/8 was built on older Javascript engine and DOM interface, JSDraw runs slow there.  Especially when the molecule or reaction is big, it takes so long to render the structures.

Our development team made a big progress on this issue.  There are two separated works done to address this issue:

1. In JSDraw itself, we did more code optimization to speed it up.
2. On IE 6/7/8, we adopt Silverlight to render the graphics.  With Siliverlight, JSDraw has the same level of performance as IE 9, and other browsers.

This improvement will be available in the coming release (version 1.2.10) scheduled in early December.

With upgrading iPad to iOS 5, Richtext editing in browser is possible now.  ELN Cloud now support this features.  Rich text editing is not supported on following platforms:

1. Android 3 and later versions supports Richtext edition, and previous versions don't
2. iOS 5 and later version support Richtext edition, and previous versions don't
3. Windows, Mac, Linux are all supported with modern browsers.

From version 1.1, Chrawler will deployed using Microsoft ClickOnce technology.  The main reason for this is to simplify the installation and software updating process.

Not like Chrawler 1.0, it is installed under Program Files folder like traditional software, which requires the user having local Admin privilege on the computer.  ClickOnce installes software on users' personal place, which is much easier for end user.

For software update, ClickOnce automatically takes care of it.  When a new version is publish on our server, end users will automatically pick it up.

Another big advatange to use ClickOnce is for enterprise deployment.  Chrawler ClickOnce installer can be deployed on a company internal server with the software preconfigured, including integrated license code, security settings etc.   Enterprise users can download and install the software without using software packaging from IT.

Several professors have asked us on how to add students to their ELN Account in a convenient way.  There are a couple of options for doing that, including:

- Use the batch importing tool for a group of users

- Give Admin rights to teaching assistants to enable them to add users

- Enable students to register themselves. This option enable professors set up an invite, and each student can join the ELN account using the invite.  Please check this guide for details:
